Incredibly fashionable, flowing and wonderfully soft knitted fabric with a short pile of fibres with a delicate sheen on one side is known and popular under the names Velour or Velvet. The offered version in a light, mustard yellow colour is strongly elastic, of medium thickness and easy to drape. High stretchability of the knitted fabric makes it a typical clothing material and an excellent choice for elegant evening outfits, simple sports tracksuit trousers and leggings, sweatshirts, as well as tight-fitting and freedom of movement stage costumes.
The above properties of velour are influenced by its structure and raw materials used in production. Often unfairly rated polyester is synonymous with durability and ease of maintenance. These synthetic fibres are characterised by high abrasion and tear strength, low shrinkage and resistance to many chemicals. Additionally, polyester is water repellent, so it dries quickly after washing, and resilient, so it doesn't crease badly. Highly elastic polyurethane fibres introduced into the structure of the knitwear constitute as much as 10% and it is thanks to them that velour stretches strongly and is elastic, thanks to which it easily adapts to the shape of the silhouette.
