Thin khaki-coloured Ortalion is primarily recommended for coats and parka or quilted jackets. The fabric is slippery, has a slight sheen on both sides and is not elastic. In addition, it has very little stiffness and is densely woven. Despite its low surface weight, the fabric does not show through.
The finish of the apretta gives it a glossy appearance and increases protection against wind and water. Although the fabric is not completely impervious to seepage, drops of water easily run off its surface. The fine yarns of synthetic silk (polyester filaments) guarantee the durability of the products. This raw material has very good strength properties in both dry and wet conditions. In addition, Ortalion is resistant to, among other things, the formation of unwanted creases, the effects of most acids and alkalis and sunlight.
